Hi Sam,

My brother is a surgeon, who recently returned from Haiti. He’ll be returning there in February.

In addition to a desperate need for medical supplies, there is a desperate need for crutches, due to all the fractures and amputations suffered by these poor people. Could you please put in your newsletter, a request for any old or used crutches or canes? I’m collecting them for him so that he can deliver them when he returns.

Dear Sam and Shannon,

Thank you so much for notifying people re: crutches for Haiti. I collected 12 sets of crutches, a walker, 6 boxes of disposable paper blue pads (Chux) and a 5 man tent. I brought them up to Ft. Pierce this past Tuesday where they will be flown out by Missionary Flights International and taken to Haitian hospitals.

Again thanks to you and the wonderful people who were so caring.
